I wasn't born in Texas. I was born in California, but for the last 23 years, I've proudly called Texas home. Somewhere along the way, Texas became more than just a place I lived. It became part of who I am. The history, the independence, the culture, and the pride of calling yourself a Texan are things I've grown to carry with me every day.

But my story started long before The Republic of Texas Hat Co.

As a first-generation Mexican American, I grew up understanding the value of hard work, sacrifice, and family. I come from a household where nothing was simply handed to you, where respect was earned, and where the sacrifices of those who came before us were never meant to be forgotten.

My roots taught me where I came from. Texas helped shape who I've become.

And fatherhood gave me a reason to build something bigger than myself.

Because The Republic was never just about hats.

My roots taught me where I came from. Texas helped shape who I've become. And fatherhood gave me a reason to build something bigger than myself.

I'm a proud father to two little girls who have changed the way I see the world. Before them, success was something I wanted for myself. Today, success means something entirely different. It's about the example I set, the opportunities I create, and the legacy I leave behind.

I want my daughters to grow up knowing that their dad wasn't afraid to take a chance. That he was willing to start with nothing more than an idea, put in the work, make mistakes, learn from them, and keep going even when the outcome wasn't guaranteed.

I wasn't born into a business empire. There wasn't a company waiting for me to inherit or a roadmap showing me how to build one.

Just ambition, a vision, and the belief that something meaningful could come from starting small.

And that's exactly where The Republic began.

What started as an idea to create hats representing Texas pride and heritage slowly became something much more personal. Every design, every detail, and every step forward represents more than a product. It represents the beginning of something I hope will last long after I'm gone.

As a first-generation Mexican American raising the next generation, I understand that legacy isn't always measured by what you leave in someone's hands.

Sometimes, it's measured by what you leave in their hearts.

The courage to pursue something bigger. The discipline to work for it. The humility to remember where you came from. And the confidence to know that your beginnings don't have to determine your future.

Maybe one day my daughters will take The Republic further than I ever imagined. Maybe they'll build something entirely their own. Whatever path they choose, I hope they carry the same pride in their roots, the same determination, and the same belief that anything worth building is worth fighting for.

I don't know how big this company will become. I don't know where this journey will take me.

But I know exactly why I started.

Because one day, when my daughters look back, I don't want them to simply remember that their dad had dreams.

I want them to remember that he had the courage to chase them.

That he didn't wait for the perfect opportunity. He created one.

That he didn't just talk about building a future. He put his hands to work and started building it.

And if The Republic becomes even a small part of the legacy I leave behind, then every late night, every setback, and every sacrifice will have meant something.

This is more than a hat company.

It's a reflection of where I come from, the place I call home, and the two little girls who give everything I do a greater purpose.

Built with pride. Rooted in sacrifice. Driven by love.

This is my story.

This is their legacy.

And this is only the beginning.
